24/7 Sobriety
The 24/7 Sobriety Program has been in operation in North
Dakota since January 2008.
Participation may be ordered through the court as a
condition of bond, pre-trial release, as a condition of sentencing or probation
for any violation where drugs or alcohol me be involved, cases involving
domestic abuse, or abuse/neglect of a child.
An individual may also get approval through the North
Dakota Department of Transportation to submit to volunteer testing in order to
obtain a Temporary Restricted Driver’s License.
It is the individual's responsibility to pay for the
testing fees when participating in the program.
Daily Breath Testing:
8:00
– 9:00 a.m. daily & 8:00
– 9:00 p.m. daily
SCRAM Bracelet Alcohol Monitoring:
9:00
a.m. – 11:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday by appointment only.
- Initial
startup fee $218.00.
- Startup
fee consists of $50.00 activation fee, $50.00 deactivation fee and one month of service at a
cost of $168.00.
- Monthly
cost is $168.00
- Daily
cost is $6.00
Remote Breath Testing:
Remote
testing performed by the participant outside of the Sheriff’s Office facility.
- Initial
startup fee $218.00.
- Startup

Drug Patch Testing:
9:00
a.m. – 11:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday by appointment only.
- Cost
is $60.00 per patch.
Offender Registration:
Offenders
must register with the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office if they are living or
working within McKenzie County.

Requirement Information
At the time of your initial registration you will
be:
- Fingerprinted.
- Photographed.
- DNA sample (swabbing of the
inside of your mouth) is obtained if a DNA sample is not already on file.
- State Required (BCI) form is
filled out.
The State of North Dakota requires you to personally
appear once a year in the office/jurisdiction to which you reside to update
information, as well as submit to a new picture. You will be notified
through the mail and by the State of North Dakota when that is to occur.
We will periodically stop by your residence or place of
employment, unannounced, to confirm that you are still living or working at the
locations you provided at your registration.
As a registered offender YOU are responsible for keeping
your paperwork with the McKenzie County Sheriff's Office up to date.
Failure to properly keep your paperwork updated, such as residence, work and
schooling, may result in additional charges such as failure to register.
Finger Printing:
The McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office performs fingerprinting
for various reasons such as professional licensures, foster care license, realtor
licensure, Alcohol Tobacco Firearms (ATF) National Firearms Act restricted firearms
and components, employment backgrounds, etc.
The McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office does not perform the
background records check but only provides the service of fingerprinting for those
services.
