The Chief Deputy is second in command and oversees all divisions within the Sheriff's Office. The Chief Deputy manages daily operations, policy development and implementation, and the overall budget.
Administrative Division

The Administrative Division ensures the normal operations of the administrative division are being conducted in an efficient and effective manner. The division is also tasked with maintaining personnel equipment and records, specialized equipment, grants, civil processes and budgeting, and maintaining the property and evidence room,.
Patrol Division
Division Commander: Lieutenant Mike Ficken
The Patrol Division is the largest division in the Sheriff Office and provides an array of services to our citizens. The Patrol Division takes pride in the day-to-day activities it performs, and insuring that our citizens are afforded the "protection and service" they deserve.
Investigations Division
Division Commander: Lieutenant Max Matthews-Kasner
The Investigations Division investigates criminal activity that occurs, or has an effect on the areas we serve and its citizens. The majority of cases that are investigated are those that are reported to the agency through the patrol division and referred to investigators for further follow up. The Investigations Division is responsible for membership in the North West Narcotics Task Force, Internal Affairs Investigations, and the Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT).
Dispatch Division
Division Supervisor: Kylee Roff
The Dispatch Division handles all calls coming into the Sheriff's Office 24 hours per day. Dispatch provides the public with timely and effective emergency and non-emergency public safety communication services. Currently, State Radio handles all 911 calls placed in McKenzie County.
