About Us

Mission

The MCSO is a modern law enforcement agency utilizing the latest in technology to effectively investigate, deter, and apprehend criminals. Working with other city, state, and federal agencies that operate in the confines of the county, we dedicate ourselves 24/7/365 to ensure safety and security during this time of rapid growth and development that is being experienced by the Bakken oil formation.

The McKenzie County Combined Law Enforcement Center addresses the need for more prisoner cells and consolidates the many county and state agencies that serve the growing population of the region. The building will house both long and short term prisoners with a capacity of 129 beds.

The new building will serve several county and state agencies including, the departments of McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office, Watford City Police Department, North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Northwest Narcotics Task Force, North Dakota Highway Patrol.
